How to Snag a Domain Name That's Already Taken?

If you have your eye on a domain name owned by someone else, don’t give up hope. You can still get it when it becomes available again. That’s where domain backorder comes in. This is a service that allows you to monitor a domain name and try to register it as soon as it expires before anyone else. Just tell us what domain name you want, and we’ll do the rest.

Domains are not always permanent

Thousands of domains expire annually for various reasons, and their owners do not renew them. If any of these domains are what you want, we can help you get them. We can help you acquire domains with extensions like .com, .co, .info, .me, .mobi, .org, .net, .us, or .biz.

Go for it and try to win!

The domain you want may belong to someone else. We’ll let you know if someone else wants your same domain. At that point, it goes up for auction. You can either place a bid to win or skip it – and then the domain goes to someone else. It’s up to you!

Alternatives to Domain Backordering

Domain backorder is not your only option to grab an expired domain name. You can bid on domain auction sites where expired domains are sold to the highest bidder. Or, if these expired domains are available, you can buy them at regular rates on our domain registration service.

FAQs about Domain Backorder

Backorder a domain to save a name currently registered by someone else. If the registration period expires, you can register it before it becomes available to the public. We will check its status daily and keep you updated. If you are the only backorder holder, you will become the registrant. If not, an auction will determine the winner.

When you place a domain backorder at HostAnyTime, your payment will be applied when the domain name expires. If the domain name goes to auction, we will place the opening bid using your backorder payment. You can continue bidding on the domain name or transfer your backorder credit to a different domain name.

We will do our best to secure your desired domain through our backorder process, but we cannot guarantee success. If the current registrar fails to renew the domain, we will use all available channels to register it for you. If your backorder fails, you can try again with the same domain or switch to another one at no extra cost. Backorders expire three years after purchase.
